  • Artist: CUM WO
  • Description: A large and very impressive Chinese export silver hexagonal cup/vase with bamboo-form handles. Each side is decorated with the finest applied decoration with a different scene: rooster on a rock, herons and iris flowers, plum blossom and pheasant, chrysanthemum, magnolia and magpie and bamboo and sparrow. The cup is supported by a twist stem in the shape of three bamboo on a hexagonal plinth on a large, plain hexagonal foot. The interior retains its original gold wash. Marked: 'CW 90' for CUM WO, a noted 19th century Hong Kong silversmith. Dimensions: 11.5" high (29cm)by 9.5" wide 24cm (over handles). Date: circa 1900 Weight: 1030 gms.
